I love it when my kids birthdays fall on the weekend and I get to spend the day with them!
We started out Kira's birthday with the breakfast of her request....pancakes, sausage and eggs. She was almost too excited to eat though!!
Next was presents......
After lunch we had her cake........
Instead of having a party with friends this year, Kira wanted to go to a waterpark like we had done for Dylan's over the summer. We decided to try out Deer Valley Lodge in Barneveld and I'm so, so glad we did. It was a perfect size for our kids. It was small enough that we could give them a little more freedom than at the larger ones which Dylan loved but it was big enough that they were plenty busy.
Dylan loved the 2 biggest waterslides they had.......I won't even try to count how many times he walked up the steps to go down them. He even talked me into going down them and I'm not a huge fan of the slides!
Kira and Eva preferrd the smaller pool although my sweet Kira really wanted to try the bigger green slide but she just couldn't convince herself to do it which resulted in some tears of frustration from her. She would have had to do it herself since you couldn't put kids on your laps. I felt bad for her so we focused on trying the blue slide that was behind her....it was small but for her, it was a pretty big thrill to be confident enough to do it!

Kira wanted to sleep in her sleeping bag which worked out nice. She was EXHAUSTED! She asked to go to bed at 7:20 PM.....and was out in about a minute, even with all of us still awake!
Sunday morning we got up and after breakfast went down to swim again....the girls lasted about an hour and we done. Kira looked so tired and every time I looked at Eva she was yawning!

One of his last trips up the steps.......when I said it was almost time to go he asked if he could do the green and yellow slide one more time and off he went!
The green slide...the yellow slide actually goes outside the building and is pitch black at night!....didn't seem to bother Dylan though!
Last trip up....he was moving REALLY slow by this point but was determined to go!
This slide went into the deeper pool that also had an area with basketball hoops. We spent a good amount of time in this one too. There were benchs in the pool along the sides where I would sit while D did this slide over and over and over!
Wish that I could have gotten more pictures...especially of the girls but I forgot to buy one of the disposible water cameras and didn't want to take any chance of dropping mine in the water!!
Kira said she had a great birthday and we all agreed that we would go back to Deer Valley again. I just wish they had an outside area for the summer. J and I agreed that the smaller park is a much better fit for our family right now!
