Kira's week with Eema and Bumpa...

(Sorry that some of the pics aren't flipped the right direction.....I've tried several times and have given up!) :-)

I think it's safe to say that she had a great time....chocolate cream pie, helping take care of a horse, riding a horse, 4-H fair, holding a kitty x2 and making faces a Bumpa!  I have a feeling this video shows how a lot of the week went............

If you know Kira, you know that she LOVES animals.  She has since she was really little.  While she was with Eema and Bumpa she had the change to go see Red, my cousins horse.  It's something we've talked about several times but there was just never a chance to do it.  Mom told me they were going and I said it's 50/50 if Kira will actually ride the horse....either way, I was thrilled that she was getting the opportunity to be up close to a horse!

KIRA RODE A HORSE! :-)  When she called to tell me, I could hear her smile!  She was so excited!! She's still talking about it!

And as if seeing a horse wasn't enough, she also got to see Jessica's dog, Jazz at the 4K Fair.

 And she got to go to the petting zoo and hold a kitten.........

I think it's safe to say that she had a REALLY fun week!

E is for EAT under a tree!

So after our trip to the park I had to think fast and come up with something that would be a fun lunch since I TOLD them we were going to have a fun lunch.......The letter "E" on our ABC's of summer poster was eat under a tree, so we did.

P is for PAINT on the sidewalk!!

We made some sidewalk paints that Kira and Eva were REALLY excited to try!  It was a combination on cornstarch, water and food coloring.  They were a little runny but it was still fun for them.

Dylan joined us for the typical few minutes and was done.....

We decided to just dump them when we were done and the kids thought it was fun to watch them run down the sidewalk...

Jason thought it would be fun.....

To do sparklers with the kids on the 4th of July.  I laughed but said ok.

They thought they were really cool when he poked them into the ground and lit them....

First D wanted to hold one, just lit it, D threw it and ran in the house.

Then Eva wanted to hold one and well, there is goes running and crying in the picture.

Kira never held one but was crying too!

Jason and I....we were laughing! :-)

Let's go to the park!

The kids had been asking when we could go to a park....the heat has made it hard to get many park trips in this summer.  I decided to head to a "castle" park in Cottage Grove.  After making a wrong turn and having to get turned around and figure that out, we got to the park........around 11:00 AM only to find it it's COMPLETELY in the sun, not a tree to be found.  Well, I figured since we were there, we would go check it out but quickly decided that a picnic was out of the question.

Right after these pictures, Eva hit her head or pinched her finger, not sure which, and proceeded to cry and cry and cry........Dylan was extremely tired from his new meds and hot so he was looking for shade ready to go to sleep any second.

Yeah, it took us longer to get there than we were there.  It was not our best trip to a park!

Oh well...another day.

A new toothless wonder!!

We found his loose tooth on Sunday, July 8th....it wasn't super loose!!

Monday morning, July 9th, I was greeted with an excited boy at 6:15 AM....

"MY TOOTH IS OUT!"

I can't believe it worked....

I had my doubts that the homemade chalk we tried would actually work........

But it did!

Yes, he's' REALLY sleeping....

Charming little sweetie....

We MIGHT do it again!  It was REALLY messy!! :-)
