Today was the day....

And this morning I got an email from one of Kira's teachers letting me know that it was fine if I wanted to come to the Figureheads concert today....well, I knew that I better not let Kira SEE me so Eva and I went but watched from a room off to the side.

Kira was enjoying but I could also tell that she was right on the edge of what she could handle with the noise of all the kids in the gym, the music and the commotion BUT she.loved.it!!

I managed to snap a couple of pictures from the side......

It was pretty funny when I picked her up and started dropping hints that we had been there.  Once she figured it out, her jaw literally dropped and she said, "No way!  I didn't even see you!  How did you do that?  Where was Eva?  Did you hear "the windows" song?  That's my favorite!"

I'm glad that I decided to go watch! :-)

Practicing for The Figureheads!

Kira absolutely loves the group Figureheads and was so, so sad when she had to miss their concert at school earlier this year because she was sick.......real tears and just so sad.  BUT she is so excited that TOMORROW they are coming back to her school and doing another concert.  She wanted to practice dancing tonight when she got home......oh my!!

I have to admit that I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that she will be able to handle the noise of the music and kids.  I want her so, so badly to just have a great time....so much that I'm getting teary-eyed just typing this. 

Hoping tomorrow is a great day for my sweet Kira!!

Loving the weather!

No pictures but I just have to say that we completely enjoying every minute of this weather!!  Eva has been so fun to watch.  She just wanders about the backyard looking at everything.  She loves to go on the side of our house and look at the flowers that are coming up (rather quickly I might add!) and asks everyday to go see if the "colors are there yet!"  We've had to have a few discussions about where the rocoks needs to stay, and no, we don't dig holes in the dirt in random areas of the yard!  The downfall right now....her allergies have kicked in big time!!  She's pretty miserable and it came on quick!  We started her allergy meds today so hopefully that will help soon!!

Dylan has been loving the weather too!  He's all about the climber right now and is constantly wanting to show me "tricks!"  And of course, love to act out every movie and AFV clip in can remember!  Never a dull moment!  He was excited to get his scooter out and has figured it out pretty quickly.  He's been talking about wanting a bike so I'm hoping to find on a used one when the garage sales start!  He's been excited about hearing all the birds too....he keeps asking me what kind it is but that's not an area I can really help with! :-)

Kira's been excited to be out for both recesses at school.  During the winter she typically only went out for her lunch recess since getting around with all her snowgear on is hard and the cold air doesn't help with her cough.  She was home from school all last week with pneumonia again......thought that maybe we were going to avoid it this winter but not-so-much.  She seems to be feeling better and was THRILLED to figure out that she could swallow pills this time around which meant not having to taste the yucky stuff.  She's starting to think about spring break and is making her list! :-)

Here's hoping that this weather sticks around! :-)

He's never tired, right?

Dylan was downstairs having quiet time and when I called him to come upstairs, he didn't come and he didn't come so I went down to tell him again.  And this is how I found him....



Kira came home soooo proud!

Kira was beaming when she brought this paper home to show me....she wrote her name in cursive, with no help for the 1st time!!
